The $1,000 Zonta District 23Women Taking Climate Action Award is for women whose climate actions engage with women and significantly contribute towards reducing the impacts of climate change. Their action can be around mitigation, adaption, communication, advocacy or service.

Zonta International is a global human rights organisation committed to building a better world for women and girls. In short, Zonta Says YES to gender equality, NO to violence against women and NOW to gender equal climate action.
Due to systemic gender inequality, women and girls have fewer resources and choices to recover from extreme weather events.
Zonta Says NOW to gender-equal climate action is Zonta's campaign seeking climate justice for women and girls - so they can prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impacts of climate change on the same basis as men.
The idea for the campaign began in the Zonta Club of Perth in Western Australia.
